In celebration of the new Harry Potter movie coming out, I decided to bring together a little bit of inspiration for a Wedding or party to suit the theme.
For the venue a castle setting would be best, but the theme could still be created in a plain hall, which would be a great blank canvas.
For bringing together the colour pallete of the day, vibrant rich hues such as red, purple and gold would be best..
For invitations , an aged look invitation or a scroll and use of purple and gold would be a great look.
For centrepieces, there are several different options you could consider, large gothic style ornamental candleabras, or just many many church candles would set the medieval style scene.
Or for alternative table decorations , you could have little bottles of differents sizes filled with coloured water [magic potions] with labels saying what spells they were.
Or to add a bit of a magical theme to the day, you could add in some star table confetti , and a magicians hat and wand to add a bit of pizazz.
When bringing flowers into the mix, something bold and bright should be used , or long twigs in a elongated vase with flowers and/or twinkle lights.
For the brides dress, you could consider a medieval style , such as those by Scottish designer Grace Fleming of Lindsey Fleming.
Or a Pheonix inspred gown by Janey Tenime, such as worn in the movie, similar to one by Alexander McQueen in his Fall 2008 line.
Bridesmaids gowns could be in rich purple, reds or gold hues.
For the groom and best man and the wedding party, a black tux would be worn but with a gold or purple cummerband, or for the really brave, a long wizards robe.
A hog roast / carvery style buffet , and sumptous spread would suit the theme, and a steaming cauldron of something such as punch, or a new couple created Cocktail would be really effective.
For the cake you could choose a castle style cake or take inspiration from the pheonix, like this elegant design.
And finally a Candy Buffet with a little sign saying Love is Magic.... would be just spellbinding, and could double up as a great Wedding Favour.
